    • have active skin cancer in the treatment area 
    • have open wounds, sores, or irritated skin in the treatment area
    • have active acne
    • history of keloids
    • diabetics
    • undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation
    • have an allergy to stainless steel or lidocaine or tetracaine anesthetics
    • have a hemorrhagic (Bleeding) disorder or hemostatic (bleeding) dysfunction
    • are pregnant or nursing
    • are currently taking any drugs with the ingredient isotretinoin (Such as Accutane) 
    • must wait 2 weeks after or before receiving botox and fillers to get microneedling
    • we ask that you are 1 week off retinoids prior to receiving microneedling
    • avoid Anti-inflammatory medication such as: Advil, ibuprofen, motrin,72 hours prior to scheduled treatment

    SkinPen’s sterile microneedles pierce the skin, increasing blood flow. Immune cells work to clean and disinfect the area, setting the stage for repair. This stage helps prepare the skin to rebuild with fresh, healthy cells.

    Before treatment Your skin will be cleansed and topical anesthetic containing tetracaine and lidocaine will be applied to ensure maximum comfort throughout the treatment.

    During treatment Once numbing cream has taken effect, the provider will gently pass the SkinPen Elite over the treatment area. As the tiny needles create micro-channels in the skin, you will feel light pressure and a mild buzzing sensation, with minimal discomfort. The treatment lasts approximately 30 minutes.

    After treatment Most patients notice slight redness in the treated area, similar to a sunburn. Additional common treatment responses include dryness, tightness, and peeling. This is normal and should subside within 24 to 72 hours. Makeup and sunscreen may be applied 24 hours after treatment.
